Proxies

Proxy... the term is used a lot, and increasingly too.
But what does this “proxy thing” do?

Well, a proxy is basically a server that sits between your own computer and the sites you visit – or other computers.

This is what makes proxies so useful – they act as a wall between you and others, making you Anonymous. Not only does a proxy make you anonymous, it can also block out a huge chunk of internet trash like ads - making your internet connection speed up and therefore getting you a better experience while online surfing.

So, the upsides of using proxies are explained, but is there a downside to it? If so, what are they?

Well, the guys who own the proxies can spy on your info and can give your privacy away just as easily as they can provide it, and that’s why you must make sure your proxy server is high quality and reliable – you don’t want to use a shady proxy or you’ll be worst than if you weren’t using one at all.

So, summing up, using a proxy can:

Pro: - Speed up your internet connection; - Block ads and Internet Trash; - Keep your Privacy; - Make you Anonymous;

Cons: - Compromise your privacy (if a shady proxy is used); - Have your private information sold;

So, by now you can realize what my advice about proxies is:
If you have a safe proxy or if you can connect to a secure and highly anonymous one then it is a good idea to be connected to one. If on the other hand you aren’t sure about the quality of a certain proxy – keep away!

There are a lot of websites out there than provide free proxies – but always do your research first, as most of these sites are owned by webmasters that make their living out of the information or resources they get from their proxies’ users.

Remember, always search for HIGHLY ANONYMOUS proxies – transparent proxies and anonymous ones still leak info. Stay informed, stay safe!
